DESCRIPTION:The International Measurement Confederation (IMEKO) is a n
 on-governmental federation of 36 Member Organizations individually con
 cerned with the advancement of measurement technology.\n\nIts fundamen
 tal objectives are the promotion of international interchange of scien
 tific and technical information in the field of measurement and instru
 mentation and the enhancement of international co-operation among scie
 ntists and engineers from research and industry.\n\nFounded in 1958\, 
 the Confederation has consultative status with UNESCO and UNIDO and is
  one of the five Sister Federations within Five International Associat
 ions Coordinating Committee (FIACC)\, further consisting of Internatio
 nal Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC)\; International Federation 
 for Information Processing (IFIP)\; International Federation of Operat
 ional Research Societies (IFORS) and International Association for Mat
 hematics and Computers in Simulation (IMACS).
