EPoSS Sessions at SSI 2011

EPoSS Session I:
Industrial Take-up of Smart Systems Research

22nd March 2011, 10:20 - 12:25

Starting from FP7 research projects initiated by EPoSS members, invited speakers from industry will present projects contributing to industrial take-up for the benefit of business and private end users, European economies and society as a whole.

Presentations will demonstrate industrial take-up in EPoSS key topics, such as

  • Health and ageing
  • Sustainable production and robotics
  • Smart communication and ambient intelligence
  • Sustainable mobility and energy efficiency
  • Safety & security

thereby covering major areas of past and current FP7 Work Programmes, and with a special focus on the four Public Private Partnerships.

EPoSS Session II:
FP8 - Future Paths for Smart Systems Integration

22nd March 2011, 13:45 - 15:15

The session is dedicated to the presentation of and debate on strategy and policy recommendations, research priorities, roadmaps and visions for Smart Systems Integration in the upcoming Research Framework Programme FP8.

Major stakeholders will present their positions on FP8 with respect to

  • Fields of action for Smart System Integration
  • New technologies and enhanced functionalities
  • Opportunities for technological progress
  • Scope for innovation and competitive advantage
  • Lessons learnt from FP7 and recommendations for future research funding

In this session participants will further have the opportunity to contribute to the opinion making process for FP8 and the R&D priorities of the ETP.

Participation in the EPoSS sessions is free of charge.

EPoSS also has a booth at the SSI 2011 exhibition. All participants are invited to visit the booth for information on EPoSS, exchange views on Smart Systems Integration or discuss future projects and developments.

SMART SYSTEMS INTEGRATION is the international communication platform for research institutes and manufacturer to exchange know-how on smart systems integration and to create the basis for successful research cooperations with a focus on Europe. The conference offers insights into Smart Systems Integration, latest technologies and future developments.

Main conference topics

  • Smart systems for automotive/green car and aeronautics
  • Smart diagnostic and medical therapeutic systems
  • Smart power management
  • Micro and nano technologies and systems
  • System integration
  • Design and reliability of systems
